One-Week Men’s Intensive Programme for Compulsive Sexual Behaviour

The One-Week Men’s Intensive Programme provides a structured and concentrated starting point for men who are struggling with compulsive sexual behaviour, sometimes described as sex addiction or pornography addiction.

It is designed for men who recognise that their sexual behaviour has become difficult to control and is affecting their emotional wellbeing, relationships, work, health or finances. Some participants are beginning recovery for the first time. Others have previously tried to stop but find themselves returning to the same behaviours.

The programme is not based on judgement, humiliation or forced disclosure. It offers a confidential and carefully facilitated environment in which participants can begin to understand their behaviour, take responsibility for its impact and develop a more sustainable recovery plan.

“The One-Week Men’s Intensive Programme provides a solid foundation on which men can begin to build their recovery.” Dr Robert Hudson

Why an Intensive Programme?

Weekly therapy is valuable, but some people need a more concentrated period of work to interrupt an established pattern and begin addressing the issues with greater focus.

The intensive brings together psychoeducation, group therapy, experiential work, structured reflection and individual attention. The group provides an opportunity for participants to recognise that they are not alone, receive honest feedback and learn from the experiences of other men facing similar difficulties.

Progress is not measured only by stopping a particular behaviour. It also involves greater self-awareness, increased emotional responsibility and the capacity to make considered choices rather than being repeatedly driven by impulses, secrecy or immediate relief.

The programme is an outpatient treatment option and does not provide residential accommodation or medical care. Suitability is considered through an assessment before a place is offered.

Who May Benefit?

The programme may be helpful for men who:

  • Feel unable to control aspects of their sexual behaviour
  • Have made repeated unsuccessful attempts to stop
  • Are struggling with compulsive pornography use
  • Have engaged in repeated affairs, paid sexual services or online sexual activity
  • Are living with secrecy, shame or fear of discovery
  • Have experienced relapse after a period of recovery
  • Want to understand the emotional and psychological function of their behaviour
  • Need a structured recovery and relapse-prevention plan
  • Want to address the impact of their behaviour on a partner or family
  • Would benefit from working alongside other men in a confidential therapeutic setting

The programme is also available to men who live outside London or outside the UK and wish to travel to London for an intensive period of treatment.

Areas of Focus

During the week, participants will be supported to:

  • Understand the development and function of their compulsive sexual behaviour
  • Recognise denial, minimisation and patterns of self-deception
  • Identify emotional, relational and situational triggers
  • Explore the relationship between behaviour, attachment and earlier experiences
  • Understand the possible impact of trauma without using it to excuse harmful choices
  • Reduce shame while developing responsibility and accountability
  • Learn ways of managing difficult emotions without returning to sexual behaviour
  • Develop appropriate boundaries and a personal recovery plan
  • Recognise warning signs and strengthen relapse-prevention strategies
  • Consider the impact of secrecy and betrayal on partners and relationships
  • Begin developing a healthier and more integrated understanding of sexuality
  • Identify the support needed following the intensive

The programme does not assume that every participant has the same history or requires the same approach. Each man is encouraged to understand his own pattern while also contributing to the safety and development of the group.

Programme Structure

The programme takes place in person at my Central London practice and runs from Monday to Friday.

The week includes:

  • Psychoeducational teaching
  • Facilitated group therapy
  • Experiential and reflective work
  • Structured written tasks
  • Recovery and relapse-prevention planning
  • Individual attention where clinically appropriate
  • Planning for ongoing treatment and support

The group is deliberately limited to a maximum of eight participants. This allows sufficient time for each person’s work while preserving the value of the group process.

Assessment and Admission

Participation begins with a confidential individual assessment. This enables us to consider your current difficulties, treatment history, emotional and physical wellbeing, recovery needs and whether an intensive group setting is suitable for you.

A place is not confirmed until the assessment has been completed, and both the participant and facilitator agree that the programme is appropriate.

The intensive is not intended to replace medical detoxification, inpatient psychiatric treatment or emergency mental-health support.

Programme Dates

The remaining scheduled dates are:

  • 26–30 October 2026
  • 23–27 November 2026
  • 25–29 January 2027

Places are limited to eight participants and are offered following assessment.

Programme Fee: The fee for the five-day programme is £2,750.

Booking and Cancellation Terms

Following assessment and confirmation that the programme is suitable for you, full payment is required to reserve your place.

Before making payment, you will receive the full Programme Booking and Cancellation Terms. These explain the arrangements for cancellation, non-attendance, transferring to another programme date and any postponement or cancellation by the practitioner.

Please read these terms carefully before confirming your booking.
